Would "No English" act work on con artists in Bangkok?

Language doesn't matter...just be confident and ertive.No means no.Don't ever get rude and aggressive though.Land of Smiles can rapidly turn into Land of Psychopath.Thais are not always sweet,friendly cartoon characters.However speaking Turkish would probably,but not definitely, throw them.I can vouch for our Korean speaking friend because a similar thing happened with a Portuguese friend of mine
