14th amendment question...?

That was a very incoherent, rambling statement that said absolutely nothing. There seemed to be a vague impression that you don't like corporations. then a lot of rambling about immigrants. But, to look at the 14th amendment in its full context, it was simply meant to punish the south for the civil war. You might note that at the same time it guaranteed full protection of the law to former slaves, it also denied all rights and privileges to all confederate citizens. The guarantee against being deprived of life, liberty or property without due process was already ensconced in the 5th amendment. The 14th amendment provided no rights that were not already available to all Americans. The 14th amendment was written only out of spite to make life harder for Confederate sympathizers.
